Recovery support for compulsive overeating and other eating problems such as anorexia and bulimia is available at no cost through Overeaters Anonymous.  This is a program based on the 12 steps of AA...starting with the First Step of admitting that we are powerless over food and that our lives have become unmanageable.  This is not a diet or food plan resource.  OA deals with the emotional, spiritual, and physical recovery from eating problems.  For more information on the tools of recovery or finding a meeting in your area (plus online and telephone meetings), go to Overeaters Anonymous.

I've found that WedMD also offers sound advice on compulsive overeating, food and fitness plans, and women's health issues in general.  You can browse through the website and subscribe to just the information that interests you.

Kaiser Permanente, where I worked almost 20 years, has health information and classes, whether you are a member of the Kaiser health plan or not.   Their website has online information on women's health as well as classes and programs in the Northern California area.  Go to this link to choose other regions where Kaiser has services.
